Dog Commercials Q&A

The first time I saw my friend Sam's dog Red debut on national TV in a commercial, I screamed and made my hubs come watch. I figured it'd be fun to learn more about how they got into the world of dog commercials by doing a Q&A. My fav part of the TV spot? Red lying on a dog bed with one leg in the air. Ha! Scroll to the bottom to see the dog commercial in full.

Tips for Living in a Tiny House With Dogs

Today is publication day for a book called Living Large in Our Little House: Thriving in 480-Square Feet With Six Dogs, a Husband and One Remote — Plus More Stories of How You Can Too (Reader’s Digest Books). It’s written by my dear friend and colleague Kerri Fivecoat Campbell. She really does live in a TINY house in the mountains of Arkansas with several dogs. Because I’m sure you’re as curious as I am about how exactly that works, I asked Kerri for some tips on living in a tiny house with dogs.

Pillars of Strength for Our Real-Life Friend K

Lilly and I could NOT be more pleased to take part in Pillars of Strength – A Special Day for K on this of all days. You see, K (who is both a real-life dog training and local dog blogging friend) is the QUEEN of all Heart Dogs. So, a tribute to her on Valentine’s Day seems fitting.

All the love in the world to you, beautiful K (and your family). May all the strength and blessings in the universe rain down upon you as you fight back against the darn cancer veterinarians found in your bones.

Newsworthy: Bug, the Hiking, Camping, Super-Social Kitty

Thanks to my work, writing pet industry and pet consumer articles for magazines and online outlets, I interview lots of amazing people and pioneers. The latest one to catch my fancy? A cat named Bug, who hikes, canoes, and sometimes oversees events at her human companion’s veterinary practice (Westside Family Pet Clinic in Madison, Wisconsin).

OK, I might be a tad partial to Bug since that’s one of Lilly’s nicknames, but she is an awesome, awesome kitty. Observe. Continue reading
