FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

March 10, 2008

In December 2007, Clean Run (an agility magazine for those of you not in the sport) published an article I wrote about agility etiquette. It was one of 2 articles I did for them last year. I’ll do 2 more this year. But, that’s not why I’m bragging today.

The current issue (March 2008) includes a Letter to the Editor (page 82) that lists several articles the subscriber found helpful, and mine was one of them.

It might not sound like much, but it’s nice to hear people notice. Writing is a very solitary business. Most of the feedback I get is about things to fix or change. So, on the rare (and I mean rare) occasion that someone says or writes something nice in response, it sure does help … when the days slogging along, sentence by sentence, get hard.

Trained as a traditional journalist and based in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA, I'm a full-time freelance writer for magazines, websites, and private clients. My areas of specialty include everything in the lifestyles arena, including health and home, personal finance and other consumer interests, relationships and trends, people and business profiles ... and, of course, all things pet related.

I don't just love dogs. I need them in my life. Seriously.

  1. Thanks. I’m also fond of the polite way I found to phrase the stop gossiping piece.  ;o)

  2. Roxanne-

I love this– mostly because while I love agility, to many people competing ‘etiquette is a foreign concept. As you point out, those of us with reactive dogs are more aware of it, but it still sucks to have to be more worried about the other dogs and people than my own dog’s performance.

    Good job!
