FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

May 17, 2008

Monday afternoon before a snow storm, I took the dogs out to shoot these photos near our bridge over the little creek that crosses our land.

The culvert is oversized because our driveway goes across this bridge. The creek is just a little trickle right now, but it has flash flooded before. I recorded some audio last summer of the rushing water. That night the water filled the culvert about a third of the way up.

It’s a shame the stone work wasn’t done in red flagstone like the main part of the house, but it’s passable. The workmanship isn’t ideal either, but still … how often do regular people (and dogs) get to  have their own bridge?

I shot this image from creek level, looking up at Ginko on the edge of the driveway. Doesn’t he look majestic? If you ever run across a Lab-Greyhound mix, take it home. They make a hilarious and sweet mutt. From this angle you can’t see how small his waist is, but he basically looks like a lab from the front and a greyhound from the back.
