Just a quick post. Time very limited today. I believe we’ve found Lilly’s new sport. It’s called Treibball, and it’s essentially a form of herding that uses big balls instead of sheep. Looks like I’ll be combing garage sales and begging neighbors for their old exercise balls this spring. Check it out.
Thanks to our adoption counselor, Hilary Lane, for the idea. She heard about it from our friend Debbie Jabobs at Fearfuldogs.com.
Ohhhh, just passed this onto a friend who has a similar breed dog. What a great concept.
Wow, thanks for the mention, Roxanne! I’ve played the vid for a lot of people, who always laugh at the fun! Oddly enough, Frisbee crawled under my desk when he heard the barking in the video!
I saw this on an agility blog that I read and thought it was totally cool. Would love to hear about it if you actually try it with Lilly.
Where did you get the balls? I have a deaf border collie with an incredible herding instinct that I would like to channel! Thanks!
Hey, Karen ~ Those balls are just the ones people use in workouts, like to do sit-ups on and such. So, you can get them at a sporting goods store or even like Target / Wal-Mart, I think.
