FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

November 26, 2008

I can’t quite call this a product review since I’ve never seen these ZooActive toys by Nina Ottoson in person, but any and all of them are totally on my wish list. As I’ve mentioned before, our holiday budget is pretty much ZERO, so Lilly might have to wait for her birthday in the spring, but these wooden, very advanced puzzle toys sound like good fun for dogs like Lilly.

Some of them require simple direction action — like the Dog Brick ™, where dogs slide the puzzle pieces to uncover food.

Others, like the Dog Tornado(tm), are more complicated, with disks spinning until they line up.

I’m glad to see others importing these toys now because when I first heard about them (maybe 18 months ago) they were pretty hard to find in the U.S.

Based on my potentially faulty memory of early pricing, it seemed like the prices at In the Company of Dogs are pretty good (around $70). Still very expensive for a “dog toy,” but better than I remember seeing when I first looked into them and only one American distributor had them. If you find them cheaper anywhere, share the wealth … would ya?
