FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

September 9, 2015

Sunday, September 13, we’ll celebrate the first anniversary of Clover’s adoption from Blue Ridge Border Collie Rescue. It took fate and many major feats to get her from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Plans for festivities this weekend remain in the planning stages, but I’ll bake canine cupcakes, probably take her on a hike, and otherwise spend the entire day marking the occasion (as if we aren’t always in constant awe of just how blessed we are to be raising this incredible puppy). Let’s begin the party with this 2-minute video slideshow commemorating our first year together. (Video also embedded below.)

If you’re new to Clover’s story, don’t miss her full adoption story (told in 5 parts) and her origin story, which explains just how such an AMAZING puppy ended up in rescue at such a young age.

Happy Gotcha Day, Champion of My Heart Clover

I started trying to summarize Clover’s first year at home with us by selecting the top 100 photos taken between September 2014 and September 2015. I even made a painstakingly chronological video slideshow, but it ended up being 8 minutes long and 1.57 gigabytes big. Yeow!

So, as I often do in my career as a writer, I started editing … editing a lot, and I got the video slideshow down to 2 minutes and about 457 megabytes. Still huge, but not so huge that YouTube crashed.

Let this serve as a reminder just how quickly puppies grow up. Where did my Tiny Girl go?

There is so much more of Clover’s story that I want and plan to tell, including how things are going in with her health, what we’re learning in our agility classes, and (I hope) how things go when we have time for another herding lesson. As always, thanks for your interest in what’s going on here. Stay tuned!
