Puppy COMES HOME! This is post #5 of 5 in the story of adopting a border collie puppy from 1,600 miles away >>>> The puppy’s journey home began Friday, September 12, when Beth and Dr. Beth met halfway between Beth’s dairy farm in Virginia and Dr. Beth’s home near Washington, DC. They sent me photos so that I knew the handoff was complete.
7 Best Ways Readers Can Help Bloggers Succeed
Just before my recent trip to NYC, I got some not-great news. While the idea of a dog-centric memoir about Lilly and me perhaps has merit and while the book proposal draft I spent much of January writing is well done, it looks like our blog traffic isn’t yet in the zone to convince publishers to make a book deal. Our “platform” isn’t yet big enough. So, we need your help.
Who Misses Me Most?
I’m WAY behind on blog visits and comments because I spent three days earlier this week on the road with a client. I know. It’s shocking. I not only left the house in grown-up clothes, but I got on a plane (several actually) and went away again. Here is what I’ve learned about the pups based on this absence and the BlogPaws one last month.
Schwag? What schwag?
OK. So, it’s not like it matters to me really. However, Lilly and I are sans schwag, completely without. Our invitation to take part in that videotaped interview recently included a
promise of stuff. That’s totally NOT why we did it. But, it was promised and not delivered, which I find a bit amusing considering how such media machinations typically work. …
Dog Training: Clickers and Herding
Since we have no herding news of our own, after a long lapse in lessons due to non-stop work and family demands, today Champion of of My Heart looks at how someone else uses some clicker training in a herding context.
Wordless Wednesday: The Real Story

They do plan to tell their story, when they are ready, but I know it’s hard
Glad that Nellie was rescued. The days at which she went missing must be terrifying for both dog and owner.
Ever heard of CBD oil for dogs? It helps calm and relax pets who suffer from stress, pain and/or behavioral issues. Here’s an article from the High Times if you’re interested: https://hightimes.com/sponsored/cbd-oil-for-dogs-the-ultimate-guide/
Yep, Alex. We use the CBD for dogs from Innovet.
That was so well stated. As much as we all WOULD like to hear the story, it SHOULD be their’s to tell. I hope when she does write the story if it’s not through you that you will share a link to it. I’m so glad she was found.
I’m so glad that Nellie was rescued! Those 20 days that she was missing must have been quite an ordeal for her and her family. I can’t even begin to imagine the stress and worry and the toll it took. I hope that one day they will share at least a part of the story, but would understand if they don’t.
They do plan to tell their story, when they are ready, but I know it’s hard. Like when I wrote the grief book when I was still so raw from Lilly’s death.

I do recall that you were at some time affiliated with K9Cuisine…
A pleasure to leave a reply ✍️❤️
Oh, hey, Lesley. Congrats on the K9Cuicine gig. I indeed did write for them many years ago when the company was under its original ownership.
