FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

September 15, 2008

A poem about how I feel after taking 2 weeks off from dog training and behavior modification work with Lilly so that she could recover from her rattlesnake bite.

** Ahem **

M is for motivation of which I have NONE
I pine and ponder
I try and try
But I can’t get started again
And, I don’t know why

Maybe it’s doubt
Maybe it’s fatigue
Maybe I’ve found contentment
In spending time without intrigue

M is for motivation of which I have NONE
I need to restart
Hope again I must
But I could sure use a boost
From the dog pals I trust

I don't just love dogs. I need them in my life. Seriously.

  1. She still gets tired easily, but yes … she’s mostly back to normal. On Monday, we resumed our morning walks. We’re starting with about half our usual distance, then we’ll build up from there. We’re also playing more at home, including just a little jumping and weaving (maybe 2 minutes).

  2. Sometimes a bit of a break is a good thing, especially since the issues you’re dealing with are so frustrating. I’m sure you’ll get back into it once you’re mentally ready for it.

I’m guessing Lilly must be nearly recovered if you’re talking about returning to training so that must be a relief.
