If It’s Summer …
If it’s summer … it must mean that Lilly suddenly is terrified to come inside, but only in the evening. How many years now has this pattern emerged? Five, six years?

Since Ginko is pretty much Sofa Captain, homebody, boy about the house, I forget what he is like in public. In a word: Unruly. It’s a good reminder for me when I get my rant on about people who have little control over their dogs and how that affects my sensitive Lilly Girl.
It’s been a LONG couple of days, so I only have energy for some quick medical updates. Here is the latest on Lilly’s health, Ginko’s health, and that dog emergency we witnessed last week.
With work and family things, I haven’t had much time to do any training with Lilly lately, but I wanted to share a behavior and health update from Lilly’s wellness exam this week with our “new” veterinarian.
Among other things I shared with our veterinarian on Monday during Lilly’s wellness exam is that Lilly broke a tooth last week while chewing on a bully stick I gave her for her birthday. How is that for making a Dog Mom feel like crap?
On Monday, Lilly went for her wellness exam. Lilly is fine (as far as I know right now), but the real-life dramas that played out in the lobby and general environs bruised my empathetic heart.
I’m WAY behind on blog visits and comments because I spent three days earlier this week on the road with a client. I know. It’s shocking. I not only left the house in grown-up clothes, but I got on a plane (several actually) and went away again. Here is what I’ve learned about the pups based on this absence and the BlogPaws one last month.
Despite temps in the 30s and a brisk wind, we indeed had our Katie and Lilly reunion and Borzoi-Palooza last Sunday. It was terrific to see our Katie Girl. They both seemed happy to see each other, but they didn’t really play at all.
A dilemma, I have. One of my favorite dog product companies (Premier Pet Products) recently became a subsidiary of a company (Radio Systems Corporation) that makes shock collars (PetSafe, Innotek, etc) and other products that astound me (not in a good way), like the wireless crate. [Perhaps you remember my earlier rant on that atrocious idea.]
Lilly and Ginko have their annual veterinary exams later this month. And, one thing I desperately need solved is the problem with using an online pharmacy. Trust me, I know that the veterinary profession shuns such outlets, but even conscientious dog mom’s like me get driven to the brink.
