I’m WAY behind on blog visits and comments because I spent three days earlier this week on the road with a client. I know. It’s shocking. I not only left the house in grown-up clothes, but I got on a plane (several actually) and went away again. Here is what I’ve learned about the pups based on this absence and the BlogPaws one last month.
Ginko misses me MUCH more than Lilly does.
There, I said it.
Clearly, in this scenario, Ginko seems way more sensitive than Lilly. As soon as he saw the suitcase, he got very round-headed. When I returned, he clung to me much longer that Lilly did.
Sure, Lilly squealed and kissed and wiggled, but after about 5 minutes, she was done.
I didn’t really have time to sneak around with the packing this time, so maybe that was part of his sadness.
Lilly did, however, cuddle up a storm when I got back around 1 am. I was too tired to do much more than grab PJs and fall into bed, but my girl of all girls was right there … as long as I needed.
Yup, dogs will do it every time. Who else is going to greet you with such enthusiasm?
I tell you, this used to really bother me about our dogs. Sure, they would be happy to see us and wiggle and kiss and when they got their treat, they were gone. Lying on their beds, back to their routine. But then I realized they did miss me, but they were so secure in their home and lives – and probably so happy with their pet nanny – that they didn’t need to cling to it for very long after our return. That makes me happy too! 🙂
See … Rod. I think that’s what happens when I’m gone too. I swear Lilly loves Tom more. :o)
We have a bigger problem at our place (or at least we did before we started traveling in the RV). When ever Amy would go away, I would do my best to make Ty and Buster love me more! LOL
that would be best greeter…but I’m sure you all got that.
I like to say that Kona is the best greater in the world, but I’d bet there’re folks who’d argue their pup’s case=)
I’m glad you got some cuddle time and hope some good sleep got mixed in there too!
Awww – it’s nice to know you’re loved isn’t it? When we got from a trip to FL in April, our 2 goldens squealed and licked and thoroughly smelled us, then lay on the bed with paws hanging over, huge grins on both their faces while we unpacked. It’s a nice way to be welcomed home.
