Through Twitter, I’m finding all kinds of interesting dog-related news items. Once in a while I’ll share. For example, there are reports of these energy-efficient, compact fluorescent light bulbs freaking dogs out. I guess it’s either flickering or a high-pitched noise. So, if you happen to hear about any dogs suddenly flipping out, be sure to ask your friends about their light bulbs.

My never last as long as they are supposed to. I date the package when I get it and Home Depot says it must be my fault!
Very interesting and eye-opening article. I had one break and did not know there was a special hazard safety procedure for clean-up. And my poor dogs!
We’re transitioning our bulb over as the old ones die, and we haven’t had any issues here either. I just thought it was another interesting thing to consider when assessing a fearful dog’s environment.
We’ve got a bunch of CFL bulbs and a bunch more dogs and so far there hasnt been any reaction.
I know that if I look at a computer monitor set at less than 70Mhz, that I can see it pulsate/flicker though, and most people cannot tell, so maybe its like that, only some dogs can tell?
