Adverse Vaccine Reaction: Lilly’s New Noises
One of the weird outcomes from Lilly’s ill-fated rabies vaccine that resulted in meningoencephalomyelitis (inflammation of the brain and lining of the brain and spinal cord) is that Lilly now makes CRAZY, new noises. Observe.
Sometimes, we’re not sure Lilly knows she makes this sound that we’ve named “chipmunk noises.” Often her eyes go a little blank. Yes, it might be an attention-seeking behavior, but Lilly vocalizes both before and after:
- Eating
- Playing
- Going outside
- Going for walks
- Getting attention from us
She also does it when she is just hanging on on a dog bed in another room.
Imagine this sound, coupled with Lilly trying to climb in my lap, and you’ll know why some days I just don’t have the heart to write another blog post.
I shot this video clip Saturday, February 25, 2012, while *trying* to finish the blog post about Lilly’s most recent veterinary neurology follow-up appointment.
If you are new to our scary story of a rabies vaccine gone horribly wrong, feel free to use the blog post category pull-down menu in the sidebar or this Adverse Vaccine Reaction category link to access all the posts we’ve published since Lilly got very, very sick with meningoencephalomyelitis (inflammation of the brain and lining of the brain and spinal cord) after an adverse reaction to a rabies vaccine given January 23, 2012.
