I had planned a well-crafted update for today, but I lost a chunk of time late this afternoon to several phone calls. I know many of you are worried about Lilly and Tom’s recent medical emergencies. So, just a quick note for now. Both are doing OK. Not great, but OK.
Tom came home from the hospital on Sunday, after being admitted from the ER on Friday. We know what happened, but we don’t yet know why. And, we might not know for several weeks (if ever). We’re scheduling more tests and monitoring him daily at home, along with a couple rechecks with the doctors each week for a while. The good news is that he seems no longer to need injections every 12 hours, which I got pretty good at (if I do say so myself). We’ve transitioned him to a single dose of a medication once a day, so that’s progress … of some sort.
Mostly, we’re feeling lucky and relieved that it is what it is … and not what it could have been, in terms of outcomes.
Lilly is doing pretty well after this latest rattlesnake bite. There are a million things I want to tell you about that, but I’m just too tired right now. I’m trying VERY hard to get a good picture of the two fang punctures on her cheek so that the geeks among us can discuss what they tell us about the age and size of the snake. So far, they all turn out blurry. Maybe I’ll try video.
Anyway, we’re all holding up the best we can. Continued good thoughts are much appreciated.
I’ll write more on this and return to our usual content as soon as I have the time and energy.
Stay strong, Roxanne. It sounds like both of your patients are heading in the right direction. Glad that Tom’s illness is under control, even if you aren’t sure of the cause. Thinking of you…
Relieved to hear that Tom is home again, and both continue on the road to recovery. Keep hanging in there!
I’m glad to hear everything is as well as it can be. Thanks for updating us. We still have crossed paws over here for you.
Hey Roxanne, I’m glad to hear things are a bit better. We’ve been thinking of you and will continue to do so. Remember to take care of yourself as you take care of your family.
Thanks for the update. Glad to hear everyone seems to be making a bit of progress. Now, go get some sleep.
