FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

September 24, 2008

Part of being Mommy McSlacker during Lilly’s recovery included letting her be outside after dinner, if she wanted to be. I also wasn’t very good about making sure the dogs had food toys to play with inside at night … mostly because I was so exhausted from worry and constant at-home medical care. Here’s the thing, though, we’re not having any trouble getting her to come in, and we’re not having any trouble with her hiding in the house at night.

Now, optimistic folks would say that means our behavior modification work and drugs are working. But, the skeptic in me points out that these same (or similar problems in summer 2007) also went away this time last year.

I’m trying to be better about food toys … at least one each every evening. But, I might let the outside thing slide until the weather turns really cold.

Won’t it be interesting to see if the problems resurface in summer 2009?

Lilly is many things … including the great puzzle of my life.
