Managed to sleep from 11 pm to 3 am, despite worry. Just called to check on Lilly. She is tolerating treatment pretty well, poor baby:
- Not a single seizure yet.
- Her latest electrolyte check shows that her sodium dropped from 157 to 154 (very much in normal range), which is good. If it went higher, that would be bad and put her at more risk.
So all the vomiting (natural and induced) was good. And, all the fluids via IV and enema are giving her body water from which to draw so that it doesn’t pull from vital areas.
So far so good, but not out of the woods yet.
Our best estimate, based on how many left in the bag, is that she ate about 130 paintballs. She weighed in at admission right at 35 pounds.
Roxanne – Just saw this. Yikes! So glad you caught this early. I envision Lilly healed, healthy, and back home running agility with you again soon. My thoughts are with you during this stressful time.
Thank you for the update on Lilly’s condition. I hope things keep improving for her and she recovers at a solid rate.
I am so glad you discovered her in time! I will be sending you very positive vibes until she is completely in the clear.
thanks for keeping us updated. I agree with Crystal…I’ve been worried about her since I read about her little binge. You get attached to all the dogs in the blogs you read!

Just heard about Lilly…What a scary situation. I’m glad that the news thus far is good. You’re all in my thoughts today.
What a crazy thing to eat…
I’m glad Lily is doing okay. I hope that continues… It’s amazing how much you can worry about a dog you’ve never met.
I just saw this now – how scary! I wonder why she would eat Paintballs? Are they normally enticing to dogs?
Poor girl. I’ll be back later for another update. Hugs to you.
Just saw this – I hope that Lilly is okay! We’ll keep all our fingers and toes and paws crossed for her over here!
Oh thank god! I hope she continues to recover quickly!
Oh no, fingers crossed for you and Lilly.
Whew, what a horrible scare. I hope that Lilly continues to improve quickly.
Thank goodness you discovered “her snack” so quickly.
