FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

December 15, 2010

Managed to sleep from 11 pm to 3 am, despite worry. Just called to check on Lilly. She is tolerating treatment pretty well, poor baby:

  • Not a single seizure yet.
  • Her latest electrolyte check shows that her sodium dropped from 157 to 154 (very much in normal range), which is good. If it went higher, that would be bad and put her at more risk.

So all the vomiting (natural and induced) was good. And, all the fluids via IV and enema are giving her body water from which to draw so that it doesn’t pull from vital areas.

So far so good, but not out of the woods yet.

Our best estimate, based on how many left in the bag, is that she ate about 130 paintballs. She weighed in at admission right at 35 pounds.
