Tom swears that the pads on the back of Lilly’s forelegs are oversized — like thumbs. Since she *is* good at gripping things, opening things and general dexterity, I’m inclined to agree. If we don’t watch out, soon she’ll be climbing ropes, scaling ravines and other mischief. Check it out.
Lilly has always bugged Tom at night to play. She pretty much knows better than to entice me to play in the house. Plus, she gloms on to me all day long, so nighttime is daddy time.
He often sits on the hearth by the fire to warm up. She’ll bring a toy and wait (and wait) for him to notice. When that doesn’t work, she’ll balance the toy on his leg … often even holding it there with one paw (sometimes 2). She did this Saturday, so he pulled up on one end of her wiener dog toy. She, as you can see, held the other.
Thumbs … definitely thumbs.
Yes. My original draft commented on her muscle tone and shiny coat, but then I thought I should cut it out. :o)
Her fetch “workouts” include running up and down a steep hill, hence the shoulder and butt muscles.
The shiny coat comes from EFA supplements, I believe.
Sometime soon, I’ll write something about what she takes.
Thanks for noticing.
Oh man, that is one great photo. She looks sooooo shiny and healthy.
🙂
Clever girl!
