Heart Dog Audiobook Now Available
!! Heart Dog Audiobook Now Available !! I know everyone is busy getting ready for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, so just a quick note to let you know that the audiobook version of Heart Dog: Surviving the Loss of Your Canine Soul Mate is now available on many audiobook platforms. This was a big goal for me in 2025 to record and edit it myself (after taking an online class this spring that I purchased in 2024). A lot of people lose their dogs this time of year, so perfect timing. I hope.
I’m distributing the book through Authors Republic, which helps upload the Heart Dog Audiobook to nearly 50 audiobook outlets, including some that make it available to borrow from local libraries.

It’s available via Apple too, but I don’t understand how that works or where to find a link, so basically look for it wherever you get your audiobooks.
Part of My Bigger Goals
I’m hopeful the Heart Dog audiobook will play a role in my goals of having more steady, non-writing-client income from things I create myself (like more books) — since even writers I consider way more successful than me are also losing many / most of their anchor clients these days due to economic worries and AI.
I priced the Heart Dog Audiobook the same as the printed book, but many of the outlets set their own pricing or they offer books “free” as part of a subscription, so I honestly have no idea what my royalty income will be for the audiobook.
As an example, I only recently figured out that I get just 32 cents every time someone borrows the ebook from their library via Hoopla. That’s kind of discouraging, but I suppose every little bit helps.
