While browsing a holiday circular, I came across a Christmas tree ornament that had to be designed by someone with dogs not like mine (or yours … no offense). It’s your typical ball-shaped bauble, but it’s filled with dog treats (they make them for cats too). I’m NOT kidding. Off the top of my head, here are just a few scenarios that sprung to mind:
1. Dog destroys holiday tree in the process of getting the treats
2. Dog hurts himself via the ornament itself or any of the other tree dangers (like hooks, electric lights, etc.)
3. Dog learns that food might be inside any/all ornaments (revisit concerns 1 and 2)
I’m sure there are disclaimers galore on the packaging, but still … The market must be people who know little about pets because people like us would NOT risk it.

Wait … here’s another one. It’s one of those raised food & water bowl holders that doubles as a toy storage chest. You CANNOT make this stuff up.
Food and water EVERYWHERE, anyone?
Insanity! Who could possibly think that putting dog treats in a tree ornament was a good idea? #3 reminds me of one of my previous dogs who used to love to unwrap presents. It all started because we encouraged him to unwrap his own Christmas presents – often dog treats. But he got so into it, as the years went by he really didn’t care what was in the package – it was all about the unwrapping. He would get so excited whenever he saw a wrapped present, no matter who it was for. I always had to watch him like a hawk around the Christmas tree. I would constantly catch him edging hopefully towards the presents under the tree, clearly hoping to do a little quick unwrapping.
Love #3! haha. For some reason I’m remembering this old Disney cartoon where Mickey brings in a Christmas tree from the woods, and Chip and Dale run up, down and through the tree looking for treats, wreaking the same sort of havoc as would be caused by these doggy ornaments!
