FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

November 19, 2009

I actually shot this a while back, but I must have forgotten to upload it here. It shows Lilly howling on cue. When I played it again before embedding it, she started howling again. Typically, Ginko only does the background yipping (like what coyotes do), but I actually caught him letting loose with a howl too. Lilly is right next to me, so she is much louder, but you can see (and I hope hear) that Ginko is singing along. Enjoy!

For some reason, my blog software gets weird when I try to embed more than one video. So, if you cannot see the second one of Ginko, click here.

I don't just love dogs. I need them in my life. Seriously.

  1. Giggling … I guess you’re right. Out of context, that indeed makes us sound goofy. I knew all of you would understand. We do it because we think it’s funny, and the dogs seem to think it’s funny.

  2. Giggling … I guess you’re right. Out of context, that indeed makes us sound goofy. I knew all of you would understand. We do it because we think it’s funny, and the dogs seem to think it’s funny.

  3. Oh, what a lovely song!
My dogs get to barking when they’re hungry and for 2 of them, it turns to howling. I sometimes get woke up this way too. Don’t tell anyone, but I sometimes join in just to get them to do it longer. 🙂

  4. There is a new artic-breed dog at our drop-in class, and she was howling the other day, and I encouraged Lilly to sing along. Everybody laughed.

We discovered Lilly would howl when Tom and I were watching the movie Mrs. Doubtfire. There is that scene where Robin Williams sticks his face in a cream pie to cover up that he isn’t wearing the mask. He peaks up over the fridge and says Hello in a funny way.

Tom and I started hello-ing to each other just to crack ourselves up, and Lilly began singing along.

We howl as a family most nights. I’m sure the neighbors think we’re nuts.

Ginko rarely howls. Once in a while if all the dogs in the valley get going, he will. I think hearing the howling video on the computer made him think there were other dogs singing. I’m so glad I caught it on tape.

  5. I love it!!!! What a great video.

Our dogs don’t howl, except R who howled whenever a contractor used a specific table saw. That’s it. Too bad…

  6. I don’t know why, but I have a special place in my heart for howling dogs. A friend has a tiny minpin that howls on cue, and it drives her nuts when we get together because him and I just howl back and forth for hours!

    AROOOOO!!!!
