Tappity-Tap, Bang, Bang

The amazing, talented, do-it-yourself-er I married these many years ago spent much of Monday cracking tile off the walls in the hall bathroom. You know, the one right across from my home office.

My concentration must be better than I think because I did two interviews with university professors back to back on Monday, and I didn’t even hear the noise until I hung up.

Removing 1970s tile, one by one, to make way for new ones requires a lot of banging. It’ll be cool when it’s done: New vanity, new potty, and some new tile. Not a remodel. Just a face-lift.

I’ve been hoarding a Bed, Bath & Beyond gift card from my sister since xmas. I’ll use that to buy new towels and other bath accessory do-dads when it’s all done.

Should be fun. Everything is based on the look of the new sink/vanity combo. It took us ages to find one we both liked that we thought would work in the space.

For me, there is something comforting about the big white sink. It’s sort of a farm-house vibe , I guess.

It’ll be a while before I can have a “Calgon, take me away” moment. (Yes, I totally dated myself with that reference.) BUT, having a fresh look is a good thing for anyone. Even if that person is a bathroom.
