All winter we had virtually no snow. Then, came spring, and it would not stop snowing. Now that it’s essentially summer, we’re getting rain most days. It’s the greenest it’s been around here maybe ever. So, here are a few shots I thought you might enjoy. (P.S. We had a big bear run through our back pasture, mere feet from our back door last night, but my camera is s-l-o-w to turn on, and I missed getting a shot of it before it ran off. Very cool, though. I’ve never seen a bear before.)
If this rain keeps up, we might end up with meadows that look like they did in 2007 when I shot this photo of Lilly, which I use as my computer screen image because it makes me so happy.
Speaking of happy things, here is the only one of our wedding tulips that bloomed this year. Seventeen years and still going just like us.
And, of course, the gratuitous Lilly portrait.
I almost forgot to include this shot of our blooming lilacs. These flowers are about my favorite scent in the world. Reminds me of my Grandparent’s house.
Ha! Yes … the rare Rocky Mtn lilac bush. :o)
People lower in the canyon also have blooming locus trees with big pink flowers, but the one we planted did not take. They are very cool.
We had one down in town as our Cody Memorial Tree.
Enjoyed the photos. I love the smell of lilacs too. Wish I had some in my yard.
So, that’s what Lilac looks like? 🙂
Beautiful photos. Lilly is a gorgeous girl.
I LOVE those pictures of Lily – great shots! Black dogs are sometimes hard to photograph well but Lily is beautiful!
Your flowers are pretty too and I envy your wide-open dog-friendly spaces! I got real ambitious about 2 weeks ago and planted a bunch of things: golden sedum, phlox, peonies (my fav!) and have a struggling clematis I am waiting on…
Love that picture of Lilly, even if it is two years old.
We’re getting a lot of rain, too. Everything was already pretty green, but now lawns everywhere are covered in ugly little mushooms. Because I’m paranoid that Marge will try to eat them, I’ve been going into the yard and trying to pick out as many as possible…
Love the Lilly portraits!
Your ‘green’ makes me long for some. What we have here is dirt, covered by gravel. It’s not attractive; but, who can keep grass green in 120 degree heat? Certainly, not I!
Enjoy the beauty of your area; and, thanks for sharing.
