Weird, weird winter upon us. No big snow “events” yet, but lots of little snows in quick succession, and several truly frigid episodes. Not just normal cold, between single digits and 25 degrees, but scary/dangerous cold well below zero with paralyzing wind chills.
I snapped this photo before last week’s deep freeze hit.
So, this is normal cold (probably in the 20s), with high humidity (remember that’s relative in our dry climate). Lilly developed frosty tips after just a few minutes playing fetch outside.
It reminds me of those simulations that age you to show how you likely will look in the future … except in this case instead of gray you’re seeing actual frost upon her coat (including her shoulders) and whiskers.
That is so odd! I’ve never seen that before. I have to agree with you regarding the weather though. The combination of snowfall totals (record ones!) and really nasty cold weather has been so odd this year. We’ve actually just come through a particularly cold patch only to have 40’s and 50’s all week this week! I’ll take the 40’s and 50’s thank you!
She is adorable! I’ve never seen that happen before – it must be an unusual combination of weather that causes it.
That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking when I see my dogs’ white faces! I hope that it warms up soon.
Yep, some folks would pay big bucks to a salon for tips like that. Lillie got them just for playing outside. Smart girl.
