FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

September 4, 2008

While amusing myself online recently, I came across a new donation program at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, where we adopted Lilly, that allows people to sponsor adoptable dogs. In essence, it makes them less expensive to adopt. I’m sure some people believe that if you cannot afford the full adoption fee, then you shouldn’t adopt. But, I like the idea that people like me, who purposefully limit the number of pets at home, can play Fairy Dogmother to one (or many) dogs who need a good home.

While I see a dog or two every time I visit the site that I’d love to bring home, I simply cannot.

There is only so much I can afford, as this week’s medical drama with Lilly vs. the Rattlesnake proves.

But, if $25 here, $50 there, can help certain dogs go to a new home faster and easier, then I’m all for it.
