FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

December 21, 2010

December 9, I attended the ASPCA $100K Save More Lives Challenge celebration at Humane Society of Boulder Valley. As a thank you to supporters, the humane society offered 10% off a toy purchase from its onsite store. So, even though I’d already ordered several new food delivery toys for Lilly and Ginko, I got one more toy. A rattlesnake, of all things.

Yes, the tail rattles.

For those new to Champion of My Heart, Lilly has now survived two rattlesnake bites to the face in four known encounters with them on our own property (summer 2010, fall 2008). We’ve been very lucky(… including last week’s ridiculous run in with paintball poisoning).

So, when I saw the snake from the Kyjen Invincibles line, I had to get it. These “invincible” toys  continue to squeak even after being punctured. As this video dog product review shows, this is indeed true after much biting and tugging, and Lilly love, Love, LOVES it.

So, as long as you can stand the noise (which is substantial), your dog will love it.

  1. When you need to put your hands over your ears to protect them from all the squeaking, you’ll know Lilly is feeling back to her regular self!

Thanks for the review and video. I’ve never seen the Kyjen toys live since they’re not sold at either of our local pet supply stores. But I’ll check them out online when Honey has made some run by destroying a few more toys!

  2. Does this video mean Lilly is back to her old self? I really hope so. She looks like she is having a blast.

I’d love to give this toy the “Shiva test”. It looks so cute.

    1. Ahh … Kristine and Kerri, I should have said something. We actually filmed this DAYS before the paintball incident. I had it scheduled to post last week, then the poisoning happened. Lilly is feeling better, but not quite this much better.
