For example, I look forward to having the time / energy to make this for Ginko — dog coat upcycled from an old fleece vest. I found the pattern through DoggieStylish weeks ago. Guesses on if / when I’ll get to it?

I love the idea because I bet I can find a really nice, big-name outerwear company vest or coat at a thrift store that I can cut up and resew for Ginko.

I mean, he has a couple fleece coats (like horse blankets) that I made for our late Dalmatian, Penelope Grace (because she had no undercoat as was forever cold once we moved to the mountain), but Ginko has just enough greyhound in him that he would look so awesome in a coat like this.

It’s now December 12. Perhaps you need some affordable, last-minute gifts for your dog friends and dog-loving friends? If so, check out DIY ideas from DoggieStylish.

  1. Thanks for the linky love!! I want to make those fleece vests for Jersey & Dexter, too. If only I can find the time…..

  2. Great links – thanks for sharing! I’ll probably end up with a pile of material scraps just sitting for months or worse yet, sewing my fingers shut, but I might actually give this a try! – Thanks!
