Huge thanks to Melanie @ Frugal Kiwi for alerting me to this online tool (by the Pedigree Adoption Drive in New Zealand). Doggelganger takes a photo of your face and matches you to an adoptable dog based on looks. Considering yesterday’s lament about breeds I hope to love some day, my results are pretty funny.
So, if you’re playing along, it seems my Fantasy Adopted Dog is a German shepherd that appears to be at the Whangarei SPCA, though I could not find a list with photos of adoptable pets on their site.
What do you think? Do we look alike? Maybe a little in the eyes.
I was going to trip, if I it came up with a doberman on my second try, but when I gave the tool another whirl, the site paired me with a Siberian Husky from the Auckland SPCA, but I didn’t see him on their adoptable dog page either.
Still … it’s pretty funny and a great way to get people to consider dog adoption.
When you have time, upload a photo of yourself to Doggelganger, and see what kind of pup is your look-alike match.
Have a great weekend!

And, if you have time over the weekend, Lilly and I would appreciate your help. Please nominate Champion of My Heart as Best Dog Blog. (bonus love to those who get family and friends to do the same)
That is fun! What a great way to promote pet adoptions.
The Doggelganger is hilarious! Thanks for sharing it!
Ha! It is fun, isn’t it? I’m glad you gave it a try.
This is pretty cool! 🙂
This is truly hilarious. I wish there were one that could match you by personality! I nominated you already!
I know. I’m sure it’s a complete load of techno hype, but the scanning and the voice thing are pretty funny.
