My friend Leslie Petrovski, who blogs over at Nake-id Knits, alerted me to a request from Interweave (a knitting magazine) for readers / Facebook fans to post photos of their dogs with crafty items they inspired. Some of the posts and photos are just too cute.
So, if you have time soon, check it out:
- Neck warmers for sight hounds
- Collar and neck tie for a canine CEO
- Sweaters and coats for labs
- Hats with neck wrap for a pug
- A quilted applique
Champion of My Heart Canine Crafts
I swore that I’d knit the dog sweaters this winter, despite my remedial knitting skills and Tom’s warnings that they’ll just ruin them, but I just never got around to it.
I did, however, finish some cotton kitchen towels. And, I’m madly knitting some tiny sweaters for babies on the way. No, not here at Chez Champion of My Heart … one of my nieces is due with her first baby in June, and one of my writer friends is due with her second baby very soon. These are my first attempts a actual clothing (although on a small scale).
Even though I picked a pattern labeled EASY, I’m a little nervous about getting the sleeves just right. That apparently requires three double-pointed needles. Oh, boy!
So, do tell!
What kind of crafts have you done for your family … human and canine alike?
I’ve crafted tons an tons of stuff for Jersey! Collars, leashes, poo bag holders….
Ha! Yes, Karen … I’m sure no one has you beat when it comes to canine craft-related production. :o)
Hi Y’all,
Wish I could offer something exciting that my Human likes to do. Nothing. Unless maybe she enjoys seeing what other people like…Like the adorable little hoodie awaiting its sleeves. 😉
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
