FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

September 21, 2012

You have our apologies for the lack of blog posts this week. Just too-too-too much going on with Lilly, with work, with my mom (who is terminally ill). Here is a little VIDEO recap of Lilly’s recovery so far.

Keep in mind that her ultimate prognosis is unknown. We could still lose this battle. This new treatment regimen could fail. BUT, for now … this is how Lilly looks and acts (much of the time). The rest of the time, she sleeps … a lot.

For now, we are simply grateful for each DAY, whether it is a good one or not.

Lilly will have round 2 of her chemo injections over the weekend. We’ll try to post an update next week, if there is any important news to report. Today, please enjoy a recap of Lilly’s last week or so … 6 weeks since relapse.

The video isn’t showing up for me in preview mode, so if you cannot see it below, please use this video link instead.

Trained as a traditional journalist and based in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA, I'm a full-time freelance writer for magazines, websites, and private clients. My areas of specialty include everything in the lifestyles arena, including health and home, personal finance and other consumer interests, relationships and trends, people and business profiles ... and, of course, all things pet related.

I don't just love dogs. I need them in my life. Seriously.

  1. I got my border collie from the shelter five years ago. He’s six now. Our first exciting adventure was when he threw himself through a glass window after about an hour of hearing thunder way off in the distance. Later he took to climbing the chain link fence during such events.
He’s a great guy, though not anywhere near as well trained as your girl. I am so sorry you are having to deal with this horrible vaccine reaction! Our shelter manager had that happen with a dog once and a local vet insisted this did not happen, though she found other vets who knew about it. I sent her a link to your blog.

  2. Thank you so much for posting this! It makes my heart sing to see her so much improved and I know how you feel is beyond words.

Good girl Lily! and Good girl and boy Mom and Dad!

  3. Thanks for this clip, so we can see a happy-looking Lilly doing some familiar things. I’m glad she is doing ok many days, and that you are going with the flow. She is doing so well considering how she was just a bit ago. xoxo

  4. I thought your girl was just adorable in every clip. she looks so happy she can “perform” for you. she looks happy in general. I know it’s all day by day. But again, you and Lilly and Tom just inspire me.

  5. I loved the first clip too! Like Lilly was looking for a crowd standing behind her waiting for her word!

She has come a long way. And, she looks happy, really happy. She loves you so very much – that’s incredibly obvious.

    Enjoy your girl.

  6. She’s looking pretty good!

I especially like how in the first clip, when you asked “Can you tell everybody how you feel?” She looked around like “Everybody? Who? Where?”
