Willing to make total fools of ourselves for you, we gave Pup-Casso Art Kit for dogs a try. This series of photos demonstrates our meager results.
The Pup-Casso Art Kit retails for $19.95, and includes the following materials:
First you glom some paint onto your paper canvass, then put it on a hard surface and lay the paint shield over (tape the plastic down so that it doesn’t slip around too much).
You’re supposed to encourage your dog to walk across the painting with treats or a toy, but Lilly mostly hopped around — missing the paint. She did lay on it. She did sit on it — again, missing the paint.
Here are our results. Pretty bad art-wise, if you ask me, but Lilly found the process pretty funny, even if she had NO clue about our goal.
On the upside, Pup-Casso Art Kit doesn’t require the dog to get paint all over its paws, which is a major plus for you and your home.
Have you ever tried letting your dog paint? What were the results?
Well, can’t say I think too much of it as art. But it could be an interesting way to practice clicker training. You could probably shape a dog to pat the paint shield with her paw.
Lilly did look cute sitting on her art work though. 🙂
Oh, fun! I’d heard about this paint kit a little while ago, and listed it in an entry I did last week.
I haven’t tried painting with Elka yet, though. I’m glad that Lilly got a kick out of it!
I think I might try that! If anything, it looks like a fun way to interact with your pup. When it is so hot out we do try to find things to do inside that are a little different.
