Our pond dried up.

The pond usually looks more like this … video of Lilly swimming.

Our pasture grasses didn't even grow. They just died.

In this video from fall 2011, you can see how the grasses normally grow and how Tom cuts them into reverse crop circles. Video of Lilly playing fetch.

I has started raining a little bit lately, but it is too little too late for this summer. Everything is just dried up and dead.

Ah, well, maybe next year!

  1. Maybe next year – I like that thought. It seems dry here in Michigan, too, though I’m sure your dryness trumps us. Our main issue this year was an early warm spell and then frost that killed all the cherries. My poor brothers had no crop to speak of this year.

  2. It’s terrible here, too, in Arkansas. We are in extreme drought conditions and this time last year we were flooding! Horrible weather all the way around.

  3. Sure hope people are being careful with fire.

I heard on the radio that 48 states are in some condition of drought. Hopefully we’ll have a very snowy winter to bring things back to normal. But with “global weirding” there’s just no telling.
