FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

March 27, 2012

Monday, we showed you some agility highlights as Lilly recovers from her neurological troubles. Today, we prove that it isn’t always pretty.

We think the video tells the whole story. Plus, it’s late, and we’re tired.

About the Author Roxanne Hawn

Trained as a traditional journalist and based in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA, I'm a full-time freelance writer for magazines, websites, and private clients. My areas of specialty include everything in the lifestyles arena, including health and home, personal finance and other consumer interests, relationships and trends, people and business profiles ... and, of course, all things pet related.

I don't just love dogs. I need them in my life. Seriously.

  1. Even though she’s not back to her old self, it was still pretty impressive, especially considering what she’s been through.

  2. I think it’s great that she’s still willing to try to do it all! That might be a sign that she’s feeling more comfortable in her own fur. I’m so glad she’s still able to be with you and work on doing what she loves!

  3. Lilly is a star, as are you! I appreciate that you document and you share your journey with Lilly. As someone who used to counsel parents of children with brain and neurological impact, these videos are fascinating. How you encourage with your voice, how Lilly protects herself AND looks to you for confirmation. I check for updates every day and am inspired by the connection and the lessons for me as your story unfolds.

  4. So its really been just a little over two months that Lilly suffered this major brain catastrophe and it seems to me that you are asking a lot of her! Why not give her a month, allowing her to get back slowly, do the exercises when she is well rested and ready to do. You could tell by Monday’s video, she was really happy to be out and doing. But in recovery, everytime just won’t be perfect.

  5. Hi Y”all,

Don’t worry…that’s what happens to us humans when we get old or even undergo anesthesia…we have trouble coordinating or even remembering how to do simple things.

I think she’s doing amazing…plus she may not feel quite “up to par” and tire much easier. She’s come so far! From wobbling to slow weaving.

  6. Oh, she’s still just so sweet! Her tail is going (even though it means “I’m unsure” sometimes), and she went through the weaves and looked at you like “I’m a rock star, right?”

    Lilly is a rock star.

  7. I am impressed. She knew that second jump did something to her and she was not going to let it do it again.
