Still neurologically compromised, Lilly stumbles, slides, and falls a fair bit on our tile floors. We don’t really have rugs to put down all over, so we offer our humble thanks to RC Pet Products in Vancouver, British Columbia, for sending us PAWks (rubber-bottomed booty socks for dogs) for Lilly to use for improved footing in the house.
Since we weren’t sure on sizes, they sent both medium (red) and small ones (pink). We’ve tried both, and the smaller ones fall off less as Lilly pokes around the house.

Dog Product Review: Rubber-Bottomed Booty Socks from RC Pet Products (PAWks)
I’m shocked to report that Lilly doesn’t seem to mind wearing the PAWks at all.
Keep in mind that her feet still schlump and drag along, so maybe she cannot feel them entirely. In fact, when I rub Lilly’s feet, it still does NOT feel like she is “inside” them. They feel uninhabited to me, with her full neurological recovery still pending.
So, Lilly will indeed wear her PAWKS (inside the house only) for better footing on the tile floors.
They do fall off, but it isn’t because Lilly is pulling them off.
Longtime readers know that I’m not keen on dressing dogs up for “fun,” but:
- Lilly needs a little help getting around.
- Lilly tolerates the PAWks well.
- Lilly looks darn cute in them.

RC Pet Products also sent us a new collar and matching leash (poppies) that aren’t even on the market yet. Right now, for blood pressure reasons, our neurologist doesn’t want Lilly wearing a collar, but maybe later she can try it on for you.
Awww. The socks are adorable! Glad to see she’s getting around better.
Lily is doing so well. I would never guess she was having any problems walking if I had not been on top of your posts. So happy she’s doing well. The Pawks look like something I need to get for Reba to keep her right hind leg from slipping out on the tile floor when she eats. The gazillion dollar chefs mat I bought for her is right there in front of her dishes but she won’t stand on it!
Wow! Lily certainly is stronger and more stable, walking with greater confidence and intent. Her eyes are more alert and quickly watchful, too. Soooo much improvement!
Roxanne, I’m working on the road right now. BUT I notice your remarks about neurological impairment and mobility aids. At home, we have the Doggon Wheels that Ariel used for the three weeks before she died (naturally, at 15). She LOVED them.
I don’t know if the model we have would be of any use to Lilly. Yes, the devices are set to the size of the dog, but I’m guessing Lilly is pretty close to Ari’s size. The question is what type of impairment is the issue, and what type of aid will help. The wheels can be set to SUPPORT rather than substitute for limb strength (rehab mode), and were arranged to aid Ari’s back legs, which were weak, rather than her front legs, which were not.
We also learned how to make booties from duct tape to prevent wear-and-tear on her feet from dragging. Not for traction in the house, but for protection out in the world. The duct-tape versions lasted better than anything commercial we found.

The poppy collar/leash is very pretty, looking forward to seeing her model it.
I have pine floors, which get torn up by doggie toe nails. I’d thInk these could be good for protecting floors as well. I’m tempted!

She indeed looks cute in this socks, but keep in mind that she can slip with those if she decide to run.
Lilly appears to be getting around much faster and more stable. Hope that continues…. And she does look darn cute in those socks!
