FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

September 7, 2011

Thanks to fans and friends for the private notes of concern. Everyone here at Chez Champion of My Heart is fine (and completely NOT at the same time). Those two elders for whom we worry and sit vigil remain essentially the same. Stable, for now. Yet … what comes next isn’t pretty. It’s real life, but it sucks all the same.

best dog blog, 2010, champion of my heart, photo of clockToday is my first full day of “work” in nearly a month. Whether it’s a whole day or a gopher-hole day, I hold onto hope that I’ll have time to resume blogging. And, then each night I’ve run out the clock — both actual time and functional brainpower. So far, the long list of planned blog posts remains unwritten.

My goal is to get back on that horse in the next day or two and write next week’s posts. So, stay tuned as we try to return to scheduled programming … already in progress.

After all, we’re not just here blogging to blog. We’re here because blogging about dogs (Lilly, in particular) is a HUGE part of our bigger goals. And, as always, we appreciate your help.

About the Author Roxanne Hawn

Trained as a traditional journalist and based in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, USA, I'm a full-time freelance writer for magazines, websites, and private clients. My areas of specialty include everything in the lifestyles arena, including health and home, personal finance and other consumer interests, relationships and trends, people and business profiles ... and, of course, all things pet related.

I don't just love dogs. I need them in my life. Seriously.

  1. I can only imagine how hard it must be for you Roxanne. All I know is that sitting vigil is mentally and physically exhausting. Just getting ready for bed can be a chore.
If you don’t get to the blogging in the next couple of days we will all understand. My thoughts are with you and your family members. Remember to take care of yourself too okay?

  2. What you are going through is so hard. It about did me in with my adoptive Mom and birth Dad. It’s crazy when what makes life easier is that “no one is sick and dying right now”, but it’s true. It’s beyond the beyond of hard.
