big things in the works ... promise
3 year old, full male, pure white BC. Has been introduced to a laser light about a year ago, enjoyed chasing it, but never displayed OCD behaviour until the past 3 weeks…fixated on shadows and lights…
I’m so sorry to hear about your BC’s new obsession with light / shadows. I hope you can get the help you need from your veterinarian and a behaviorist in your area.
Has the environment changed to one with more shadows ? Sometimes I find the border collies who have this display MORE of this behavior after a. A recent stressful (could be exciting stress, too) change, b. The environment simply has more light movement or contrast c. The light lazier play you were engaging in before is now not fulfilling dogs desire for movement, I.e it has decreased in frequency or desire for fulfillment has increased ( so many variables that a well experienced and qualified dog trainer in this field, based in modern scientific trading methods only, should help and or , I personally prefer and, veterinarian experienced in this area and current on modern positive scoentific methods should help)
