FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

November 12, 2010

Our Twitter and dog-training friend Anna Johnson (@happyhealthypup) from Calling All Dogs in Utah sent Lilly some dog treats as a gift, when she mailed us dog toys we gave away during Never Shock A Puppy. I love finding out about new dog products from friends, so here is our report on Robbie Dawg Organic Dog Treats.

We like many things about these treats:

  1. They are NOT junk (as so many dog treats are).
  2. They come scored for easy breakage into smaller pieces for training use (which is so rare).
  3. The company is small and based in Brooklyn, NY.

Here is a link to their store locator, but it looks like no stores in Colorado carry the line. (sad face)

However, I’m happy to report that my client K9Cuisine.com, who sponsors my other blog (Dog Food Dish) does carry the line … so you can order these treats online and have them shipped. (Oddly, they are NOT listed on the company’s site of web stores.) So, here are some direct links to our friends at K9Cuisine.com:

Robbie Dawg – Honey BBQ Chicken Organic Dog Treats

Robbie Dawg – Peanut Butter and Carrot Organic Dog Treats

Robbie Dawg – Real Brooklyn Pizza Organic Dog Treats

Whole Treat                               Broken Up into Smaller Pieces

My only real issue with the product is that these cute tins they come in seem like over-packaging. The idea is that you WON’T get crumbs in your pocket, if you slide the whole tin into your coat or whatever.

I see that other shapes of biscuits are also available in bags, not tins, but it looks from the photos that they might not be as easily breakable, if you’re using them for training food.

FYI – one tin runs about $5.25.

FTC Disclosure

We got these treats as a gift. While K9Cuisine.com is indeed a client, we have NOT been compensated in any way for this post by them or the Robbie Dawg team. We just wanted to share the product info because it is SO RARE that dog treats come in usable training sizes.

  1. I actually was going to say how I loved the tin. I could re-use that for so many things. For me, it’s a selling feature.

    Thanks for the review!

    1. Those tins are pretty cool. You really could use them for all kind of things. I was just talking about, in general, it’s quite a lot of packaging. :o)
