FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

November 5, 2010

Dear Sam (and others who are longing for dog training news), I wish, wish, wish I had the time/energy to work on new things with Lilly, but I just don’t with all the family medical dramas that have been brewing non-stop since summer 2009. We have high hopes for spring 2011, though. So, don’t give up on us yet. While I called it an update, it’s more like a wish list.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley now offers a Control Unleashed class. Woot!

And, we’re still dying to tryout Treibball, which we hope will still be offered at the fairgrounds not far from the bottom of our canyon by the time we have TIME to take one. Check out their YouTube Channel.

In the meantime, we might work on some tricks over the winter … this prolonged nose target from Rounder (the ridgeback who also inspired our Clean Up trick) is a hoot.

I wonder if it would work for our attempt to teach Lilly to dust mop the floors. I have been working on her pushing the mop head around with her feet (with little success), but if she could push with her nose … that might be funny too.

  1. Thanks for mentioning our American Treibball Youtube Channel videos! It’s a great sport; can’t wait for you and Lilly to join us. You can also check out our Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/americantreiballassociation. I’m posting more vids/pics this weekend. We’re ending our fall classes in about 3 weeks, but will start up again in January.

Also, I like the prolonged nose target; quite interesting.

Thanks, as always, for sharing great information.

    Hilary

  2. How have I not heard of Treibball before? I checked out the video and it looks really interesting. Like it could be a great challenge.

For some reason I tend to get a lot more training done in the winter. You’d think it would be the opposite. But when the weather is nice, we seem to just want to play.

Thanks for sharing all of this!
