FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

April 22, 2010

My BlogPaws box of schwag that I had my client from K9Cuisine.com ship to me arrived late last week. (That’s where my Dog Food Dish blog lives.) It’s kind of fun having a few new things.

I know others might not be as keen on t-shirts and such, but I could use a couple new running-around-with-dogs shirts, so I’m excited with my general BlogPaws one. The black one (and the coffee up) came from Cats Against Clay. The manifesto on the site is pretty funny, if you have time to check it out.

I got a neat poop sack dispenser and a couple rolls of biodegradable bags from Bamboo. I’ve always just used old newspaper bags or extra plastic grocery sacks, so I’m feeling pretty styling now.

And, just to prove that you never know what you don’t know … until you do, I’ll share that I actually Tweeted and asked Purrfect Play if the herbal looking stuff in the little bag was human tea. And, got this amused reply back from I Love Dogs:

Go ahead and laugh.

I’m also pretty excited about my new HUGE reusable bag. The green really perks me up.

And, of course, being the all-too-generous person he is, Anthony Holloway from K9cuisine.com could NOT resist sending a BUNCH of extra treats and snacks for Lilly and Ginko.

The ones in the blue and white bags are sort of like potstickers for pets, full of veggie puree.

The little, colorful bags are full of dried fruits and vegetables … perfect, low-cal training treat size.

The big bag has slices of sweet potato, which regular readers know are Ginko’s FAVORITE. Seriously, if you ever happen to be eating sweet potatoes when Ginko is around, protect yourself from his marauding lips.

I gave each of the dogs one of the chew sticks last week, and Ginko, who is famous for gas, had the WORST gas. So much so, that he spent Friday evening in his crate in the basement because we simply … could … not … take … it.

So, it looks like Lilly gets all of those.

I got all of this stuff for free, but I was under no obligation to write about it. I mostly wanted to tell you my cat nip story and figured I’d share photos of my loot.

  1. AC — well, I wonder if it’s poisonous. It’s gone anyway. We gave it to Tom’s mom’s cat. She rolled around on her bed for a bit. Threw the bed to the ground (it sits on a bench) and ran off. Does that mean she liked it? I have no idea.

  2. I’m wondering about the catnip tea, also. You could be onto something…I mean, the most expensive coffee is made out of poop. This could be a step up…

  3. Wow, you made out like a bandit.

Please, drink the “tea” and then write a blog post about it! I’m laughing – can you hear me?

  4. That’s a LOT of goodies – for both the dogs and you!

Strangely enough, Marge is kind of “over” bully sticks as of late.. her affections have switched, and she LOVES beef trachea. Fortunately, two members of my club have a natural pet food business, so I can get them pretty cheap.
