Brette Sember is a prolific writer on topics as wide ranging as cookbooks and co-parenting to all manner of real-world legal things. Her newest book would come in handy if you’re getting divorced and want custody of your dog. (As if the answer to that question would ever be no.) Here’s my book review How to Get Custody of Your Dog ($3.99 for Kindle).
Book Review How to Get Custody of Your Dog by Brette Sember
This easy-to-read book explains which states see dogs as property and which ones don’t.
You’ll quickly see how that might affect a custody decision about your dog. It really does matter where you’re filing for divorce and how complicated the divorce negotiations become.
Sember offers practical tips on things like:
- Documenting how much you do for your dog
- Getting dog experts to provide details that support your case (veterinarians, dog trainers, groomers, etc.)
- Video evidence
- How work schedules and home environments add up
- Why having kids may also sway the decision
So, if you’re heading into a divorce or know someone who is, get this book so that you can keep YOUR DOG with you — as it should be.
It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed material. Fantastic read.
