FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

August 9, 2012

I am exhausted at the cellular and spiritual levels, so just quick notes and one picture. The headline is this: Lilly is about the same, with 2 exceptions. Her fever is down, but so is her heart rate.

Lilly did NOT have her MRI today. Maybe  / probably tomorrow. She is pretty much the same. They’ve added a cardiac med to keep her heart rate from dropping dangerously low.

It was 54 beats per minute this morning.

During our nearly 2 hour visit this afternoon, Lilly did eat some dry and some wet food for me, but she would not drink. I’m not terribly concerned about that because they have her on a fluids IV.

I don’t really have full information on her labs, but it seems her blood work was fine. They did, however, find some protein in her urine. Not sure how that fits in.

With med support, Lilly’s heart rate was between 70-80 while we were visiting. They check it every hour now.

Technically, we’re only supposed to stay 30 minutes, but we climb into her cage, and we don’t bother anyone, so they let us stay longer.

Here is one picture of our cuddlebug in her hospital cage nest.

I did shoot a little video showing how unresponsive she is to my voice, but it’s just too-too sad to show.

  1. Saying prayers and sending you love and hugs. I wish we could do so much more, but we are thinking of you, and Lilly.

  2. Prayers and hugs to all of you! She knows you are there with her even if she can’t express her feelings.

  3. Lots of hugs for you and Lilly from the Spears Pack. Hope that you are able to get some rest tonight and that tomorrow finds sweet Lilly much improved.

  4. Roxanne, I don’t even know how to comment, the whole thing is just too sad. I hope you can feel the hugs being sent and that Lily feels the love being sent. ♥

  5. Oh sweet baby. Hate to hear that she doesn’t respond to your voice. Hang in there. I hope she’s feeling well enough to come home soon! Sending virtual hugs and pawsitive thoughts!

  6. Knowing you are there is the best medicine for her. Lots of us are pulling for you, Lilly.

  7. Sweet little girl … she is in good hands. I’m sure she heard your voice and knew you were there with her even if she was too weak to show it. Still thinking of Lilly and you all the time.
