FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

July 25, 2012

These wild daisy-like flowers seem to shower Lilly with adoration. In truth, they lean toward the morning sun … which from this vantage point is behind where Lilly sits.

I’ve never read Hemmingway’s first novel — The Sun Also Rises, but I found these quotes which seem so appropriate for our lives:

  • “I can’t stand it to think my life is going so fast and I’m not really living it.”
  •  “You can’t get away from yourself by moving from one place to another.”

I had to laugh when one site described the book as being “novel of disillusionment.”

Who isn’t disillusioned once in a while,? I ask. But, like these flowers, like our amazing canine heroine … we keep going for love and companionship.

  1. I love that picture of Lilly. I hope you will have many more pictures of her doing this and many other things.

  2. What a beautiful photo! I’ve never read the novel either, but this quote is how I feel from time to time.

“I can’t stand it to think my life is going so fast and I’m not really living it.”
