Blame it on the steroids and other medications required to treat Lilly’s eningoencephalomyelitis / meningoencephalitis (inflammation of the brain and lining of the brain and spinal cord). Two weeks ago today, Lilly ate 1/2 of a canvass totebag while I was away at a work meeting.
We, of course, induced vomiting in our wayward dog, and we felt pretty confident we’d gotten all / most of the canvass totebag to come back out before it could cause major trouble for Lilly.
Well, 10 days later …
Lilly pooped out pretty big hunks of totebag. Yes, this is a dog blog post about dog poop! Sorry.
Since I scoop the dog pen pretty much right after Lilly and Ginko go, I have the opportunity to know about any dietary indiscretions. Since Lilly did now show any signs of an intestinal blockage (lethargy, vomiting), and since nothing had come out the other end, I figured we were good to go.
But, Monday, I heard my poor puppy girl groaning a bit while she pooped, and out came more totebag than I’d expected … especially 10 days later.
I promise. No pictures of that. ;o)
Crazy!
She seems no worse for wear, so we’ll be grateful and leave it at that.
Oh my gosh… What was she thinking? It’s not like you spilled a can of cake frosting in there or something. It could not have tasted good. She’s too funny, glad to hear she’s doing ok
Hi Y’all,
Sometimes we have these compulsive desires…poor Lilly. Her compulsive desire at least didn’t lead her to more hospitalization, but I bet she’s had a tummy ache.
Y’all come by now,
Hawk aka BrownDog
Oh, how I LOVE our dogs! 🙂
Not to be too gross on an already interesting topic, but there are dog toys/chews that look like loofas. Well, they are loofas. My dog Guinness ate one, and well, let’s just say that she cried like the dickens when that came out. I felt SO bad for her, and there was nothing I could do.
No more loofa dog chews.
Good to hear the tote is now out of her system. Well, hopefully. Who knows, you may discover some random threads and things as time goes on. But it does sound like the worst is behind her! One dog we owned when I was a kid was fond of eating rubber balls – that made for rather interesting results…
Wow! At least it’s out, I guess. heehee!
Wow…that is a long time to be holding things in!
Oh boy. I’m glad it’s out and she’s ok. I remember we once had a dog who ate a pair of knee high pantyhose. It was unpleasant and we had to assist by pulling it. Very icky.
Nature took it’s time, but seems like the bag had a safe passage thankfully.
