FREE e-book "8 Things to Know About Veterinary Care"

December 24, 2010

The girls of Champion of My Heart want to wish everyone a happy holiday. Despite the most ridiculous last 16 months anyone could imagine, we remain steeped in gratitude for the blessings — big and small — in our lives.

The most recent? Lilly surviving last week’s paintball poisoning.

Our Seus-like xmas tree on the mantel

Our original holiday plan included making a cute video of Lilly doing some new xmas related trick, but then she got sick, and we ran out of time. Maybe next year.

Instead, we present this photo update on Lilly’s health and recovery. In the earlier shots, you can tell she doesn’t feel well based on her face alone. Poor sweetie girl.

Big M’WAH (kisses) to all of you. Imagine all our bottoms wiggling on your behalf.

We hope you can take some time off to relax kiss on the ones you love (especially those of the canine variety). We plan to sleep in, hang out, and remember what’s really important as we get ready for what we hope is a MUCH better year in 2011.

Lilly, day 3 after paintball poisoning.
Lilly, day 6 after paintball poisoning.
Lilly, day 8 after paintball poisoning and after attending training class, having lunch with a friend, and playing lots of ball.
Lilly, day 9 after paintball poisoning, following a 2-mile walk up the mtn and back. She looks a little tired.
Lilly, also day 9 ... after playing more fetch ... and perhaps waiting for Santa

We’re doing our best to take next week “off” from most things … perhaps including the blog, so if we do not muster up any posts next week.

Happy New Year!!

  1. Great to see Lily back to her energetic self again. And thanks for spreading the word about paintball dangers!

  2. We could all learn a lot from Lilly (well, not about overeating paintballs). But it looks like she was just hunkered into herself to heal in those early shots.

Lilly wouldn’t return to work until she was ready, would she?

Hope you enjoy a quiet end of the year!
